Greenwar II is the sequel to the insanely popular deathmatch and duel wad, Greenwar. Hellbent, the author of the original Greenwar, was the man who made all of the layouts. The aim of the project was to take bare layouts and have the 32in24 team detail them. It officially started on November of 2007 and was supposed to be done within a few weeks. However, due to various reasons, the project was cast into development hell. There was a lot of progress made within the first month of the project’s conception, but that progress slowed down to a trickle in the almost 2 years that followed. It wasn’t until the project’s leaders decided to set an ultimatum; finish the set within two weeks, regardless of the lack of content. A burst of activity topped off the set fairly quickly and Greenwar II was released on November of 2009.

I did quite a bit of work on Greenwar II. I detailed 11 maps, finished off one other map, and I also ended up being the wad compiler. I made some graphic replacements, did most of the bug fixing, and wrote most of the documentation. I was very proud of the work that I contributed and the project as a whole is very well done. Some of the detailing in this set is, for lack of a better word, breathtaking. If you’re a fan of deathmatch and of the original Greenwar, or if you just appreciate well-detailed maps, give this a spin.
