Pyrethrum is one of the first, solid DM maps that I made for Skulltag. I learned quite a lot from playing other wads and from my previous attempts at mapping, and this was the result at the time. The setting for the map takes place on Io, a moon of Jupiter. There’s lots of lava and heavy machinery to add to the ambiance. By today’s standards, the map is really too cramped and the detailing and texturing is very sloppy. The layout is ok but it could be vastly improved upon. The BFG crusher is really kind of a gimmick and not implemented all that well. Also noteworthy is that this map was made with version 96f of Skulltag in mind. When texture changes were made in 97b, it broke some texturing in this map, resulting in missing textures. This is a pretty neat piece of my mapping history though. I’m glad I kept it around. I just wouldn’t recommend playing it.
