Description:

32in24-13: A THANKSGIVING WITH NO BURGERS is the 13th installment of the 32in24 series. For this session, we were tasked with creating deathmatch maps with “The theme of the session is the saddest holiday meals ever.” The maps had to be food-related in some manner, be it in design or just in name or both. As usual, the goals were to create a full megawad of Boom compatible deathmatch maps, suitable for 4-8 players, within a 24-hour time-span. After the initial maps were completed, another 24 hour period was allotted a week later for details, bug fixes, and general polishing. This was the only 32in24 session that was held in 2013.

To make up for the lack of maps in the 12th session, I decided to contribute a total of 4 maps – Marmalade Murder Mansion, Tater Tot Tempest, UAC BBQ Processing, and Mekworx Blue Plate Special. All 4 maps were layout-complete within the first 24 hour period. I was then able to detail the first three maps in the second 24 hour period, with Xaser kindly volunteering his time and services to detail the 4th map.

All in all, I was very happy with my contributions, especially given the time crunch. I think the maps play pretty well; in particular I’m very happy with the way Tater Tot Tempest turned out!
